Practicing self-care at work is an important part of combating feelings of stress and/or burnout. When you find ways to manage your mental and physical health in the workplace, you can feel more relaxed and focused throughout the day. Self-care is also a way to remind yourself that you are a person before an employee. In this interactive workshop, participants will identify two personal and /or professional life stressors and the impact of this stress on their personal and professional life. Various forms of self care (i.e. emotional, physical, cognitive, social, financial and spiritual) will be explored and participants will have an opportunity to assess if they have support in place to address their self-care needs.

Unresolved conflict leads to tensions in the workplace and high staff turnover rates. These two factors negatively impact organizations meeting their goals and living their mission. Conflict resolution allows team members to understand each other better and create smoother working relationships. In this workshop, participants will explore 5 conflict styles (i.e. competing, collaborating, compromising, avoiding and accommodating) and they will identify positive and negative conflict strategies for dealing with conflict when it happens, practice skills necessary to uncover and deal with conflict and develop an action plan for conflict situations that occur at work.

Additionally, an overview of the salary negotiation process will be provided. Participants will integrate all of the information learned to create a personalized networking action plan.
